Frank Wimberley: Black & White: Works on Paper
This series presents an explosive body of 150 works on paper by Abstract
Expressionist Frank Wimberley. Mr. Wimberley born 1926 in Pleasantville
New Jersey is a former student of Lois Mailou Jones, James Porter, and James
Wells. Awarded the Pollock/Krasner Fellow Grant in 1988. His works reveals
ties to Jazz and Abstract Expressionism. Wimberley started exhibiting in
1969. His works has been the focus of nearly two dozen solo exhibitions
and included in more than 60 other shows, the most recent being Biennale
Internazionale Dell Arte Contemporanea in Florence, Italy. Among the public
and corporate collections that include Frank's art are: Art Institute In
Chicago, Mertopolitan Museum Of Art,I slip Art Museum, Schomburg Center,
Atlanta University, Howard University, Coca Cola, Pitney Bowes, Brooklyn
Union Gas, and Time Warner. Mr Wimberley maintain studios in New York City
and Sag Harbor New York.
